My Background

Erika Spring is a clinical dental hygienist by heart and has served her profession in various roles over the last 30 years. Currently a full-time faculty member at Coastal Carolina Community College, as well as Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) trainer for EMS North America.

Erika provides both didactic and hands-on training courses on behalf of SDA/EMS and Spring Innovative Coaching and Consulting.

In 2020, she has further adapted and implemented the GBT curriculum to be the first dental hygiene program in the US to adopt this cutting edge technology. Leadership and innovation go hand in hand- her quest for quality patient care, practice performance and practitioner satisfaction stems from surrounding herself with leaders in the dental industry and establishing her WIN WIN WIN philosophy.

Erika is an alumni of Coastal Carolina Community College, receiving her undergraduate degree and setting the stage for a passionate career in clinical dental hygiene. It was not long before Erika pursued higher education, receiving a Bachelors’ degree in Dental Hygiene and concluding with a Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. With an interest in helping dental teams and students dig beyond their clinical skills, she became a certified DISC Behavioral Consultant. Her love for education, innovation and her natural leadership abilities have allowed her to take transformative approaches in her career through clinical patient care, as a full-time educator, and through Spring Innovative, her cultivating consulting platform.

Erika’s mission is to educate tomorrow’s hygienists through today’s innovations, and reshape the future of dentistry.

Dr. Myers

Bringing on Spring Innovative as a consultant  was one of the best and most valuable investments in my dentistry career.  Not only is Erika Spring an amazing dental consultant and coach, she personalized her efforts to fit my practice’s needs. She truly listened and understood my practice’s goals. She then set my practice up for success by coaching me on proper training for my team, established and improved communication in our office, created tracking of systems and clear and concise job roles.

Erika has been the foundation for my growth within my new position as a managing director. Her ability to help me in every aspect from learning how to manage a dental office to learning the dental knowledge itself has been awesome. She’s caring and very passionate in what she does and it shows week after week. I am excited for our relationship to continue to grow and very grateful for all the help she has provided to me so far!

Having known Erika for 15 years, I have seen how her enthusiasm for progressing the dental profession has always been her mission.  I have seen her as a hygienist and have witnessed her teaching skills and, now, her coaching skills.  She has seen and worked in many office environments, has worked with many students at once, and knows exactly how to get teams structured around a dentist’s vision.  Read More

“Working with Erika on a DISC project for one of my clients was a no-brainer. Her knowledge of the DISC assessments, the process, and her experience using them for her clients made everything so easy for me. She provided me with the critical information and tools I needed to be successful with my client and was there every step of the way. I was able to use the assessments to gather pertinent information about my client’s leadership team and the time she spent explaining things to me, both before and after, gave me what I needed to get the job done right the first time.”

Thank You Erika

“Our company leadership team had a good mix of leaders from various backgrounds and with varying levels of experience within my company. We were successful but not yet realizing our potential as a leadership group. The DISC Leadership assessments were the first step in helping us establish our baseline and provided us with valuable insight regarding individual team members and the larger leadership group. We have and will continue to implement the lessons learned and I’ve already witnessed many positive results.”  “CEO, fast growing tech company, Scottsdale AZ”
